1. Record

Use QuickTime, Game Bar, or Loom to capture one clean pass. Talk slowly. Do not edit in the recorder.

2. Auto zoom

Upload to VidLaya and mark the UI that should fill the frame at each beat. The editor pans and zooms for you. Walkthrough: add auto zoom to a screen recording.

3. Highlight

Dim the rest of the screen and spotlight the button or field the viewer must notice. That is the difference between a capture and a demo.

4. Blur sensitive data, then export

Cover tokens, inboxes, and customer names. Export MP4 for the landing page. If this demo is a launch clip, see Product Hunt launch videos.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a product demo video without an editor?

Record the product with your OS screen recorder, upload the file to VidLaya, mark zoom and highlight regions, blur anything private, and export MP4.

What file types can I upload?

MP4, WebM, or MOV — the usual outputs from QuickTime, Windows Game Bar, and most call recorders.

How long can the recording be?

VidLaya processes screen recordings up to 10 minutes, which covers most product demos and feature walkthroughs.

Do I need After Effects or Camtasia for this?

Not for a standard SaaS demo. Use a full editor when you need a custom motion-graphics timeline. See VidLaya vs Camtasia if you are choosing between those jobs.
